EV Charging for Offices

Employee Benefit. Metered Sessions. OCPP-Ready.

EV chargers for office parking across India — 7.4 kW and 11 kW Type 2 AC chargers with RFID access, per-session metering and OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 for your charging management system. Small office to large campus.

Why offices are rolling out EV charging

Four drivers that make office EV charging a lease-value and retention investment, not a pure expense.

Day-Long Dwell Time

Office parking fits 7.4–11 kW AC charging well: a working day of dwell time is usually enough for a substantial charge, without expensive DC fast chargers.

Employee Retention Benefit

On-site EV charging is becoming a common employee benefit in tech and corporate offices — a visible perk that costs far less per head than most others.

Per-Employee Session Records

RFID access ties each charging session to an employee, and every session is metered and reported over OCPP. Export the records from your charging management system to recover per-kWh or subsidised rates — no manual meter reading.

Emissions Reporting Data

Metered kWh per charging session gives you a clean data source if you report charging electricity in your Scope 2 figures or track employee-commute emissions for ESG and BRSR disclosures.

Sizing guide by office type

The right number and type of chargers depends on employee count, EV adoption rate, and parking layout.

Small Office (<100 employees)

2–4 × 7.4 kW chargers in the parking lot. Start with dedicated EV bays near the entrance.

Mid-Size Office (100–500 employees)

6–16 × 7.4 kW or 11 kW chargers, RFID-controlled access, charging rostered if demand exceeds supply.

Large Campus (500+ employees)

20–50+ × 7.4 kW or 11 kW chargers, with the supply sized for the chargers running together (our chargers do not do dynamic load balancing). A booking roster avoids parking-bay disputes.

Multi-Tenant Offices

Shared common-area chargers with RFID cards issued per tenant, so the charging management system can split sessions by tenant for billing.

What we supply, and what your contractor does

Tech OVN supplies the chargers and meters, a bill of quantities, commissioning support and help with OCPP integration to your chosen charging management system or CPO. For bulk orders we can adapt charger firmware to suit your platform. Site surveys, SLDs, DB modifications and civil work (bay marking, bollards, signage) are done by your electrical contractor.

For multi-tenant office buildings, pair the chargers with Titan EV charging metering to allocate consumption correctly across tenants — Class 0.5S kWh data that holds up in tenant billing discussions.

Frequently asked questions

Six questions office facility managers and HR leaders ask before approving EV charging.

7.4 kW or 11 kW Type 2 AC chargers. Offices have long dwell times — enough for a substantial charge at moderate power, and most Indian EVs accept only 7.2–11 kW AC anyway. 22 kW chargers rarely add anything in office parking, and DC fast chargers are seldom justified. Tech OVN makes AC chargers only.
Survey current and expected EV ownership among staff, make more bays EV-capable (conduited and breaker-ready) than you equip on day one, and add chargers as usage grows. Check state building rules too — Maharashtra's 2025 policy, for example, requires new commercial buildings to make at least 50% of parking EV-ready. Laying extra conduit on day one avoids expensive retrofits; our EV charger sizing calculator gives a starting count.
Four common models: (a) free as a company benefit (simplest); (b) a subsidised per-kWh rate, billed monthly; (c) full-cost recovery, with HR deducting the monthly total; (d) an OCPP charging app where the employee pays directly. Our chargers meter every session and report it over OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1, which gives the data each model needs; the billing itself runs in your charging management system or HR process.
Reservations are handled by the charging management system (CMS) you connect the chargers to, not by the charger itself. Our chargers support OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1, and we help with the OCPP integration to your chosen CMS. Where demand exceeds charger count, a simple roster also works.
If your office has rooftop solar, encourage charging during the middle of the day when generation peaks. Titan meters on the solar and charger feeders show how much charging energy came from the roof.
Catalogue chargers ship from stock for regular orders; orders of 200 units or more take about 4 weeks. Your electrical contractor handles the DB work, cabling and bay marking, and we support commissioning and the OCPP integration with your chosen charging management system.

Beyond EV: floor-wise sub-metering & ESG

Employee EV charging is visible; floor-wise sub-metering is where corporate occupiers find waste. Titan meters on HVAC per floor, lighting per wing, kitchen, and UPS let you see exactly which floor is leaving the AC on overnight and which team is running heaters in summer. The same meters provide metered kWh data for your ESG reporting — electricity data for Scope 2 calculations and DG consumption for Scope 1 — which your sustainability team can use in BRSR and CDP disclosures.
