Built for Real-World Commercial Charging

Our Type 2 Charger features a modern and robust design built for outdoor deployment. The charger comes with WiFi, 4G, Ethernet and RFID, with an optional display. It supports OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1, so it works with any CSMS that speaks those versions, and we help with OCPP integration. With Tech OVN's heritage in energy metering, every charger includes a built-in Class 1 energy meter for accurate billing with sustained accuracy even after 10 years. 8 different error indication types through RGB LED help field engineers troubleshoot quickly without needing an LCD screen.

Which Power Rating Do You Need?

Match the rating to how long the vehicle actually sits. A bigger charger on a short dwell time is wasted capital; a small one on a high-turnover bay is a queue.

ParameterSpecification
3.3 kWSingle phase, ~15 A. Overnight charging where the vehicle sits 8+ hours — homes, RWA parking, staff bays. Adds roughly 20–25 km of range per hour.
7.4 kWSingle phase, ~32 A. Workplaces and hotels where the vehicle sits 4–8 hours. The most common destination-charging rating.
11 kWThree phase, ~16 A per phase. Malls, offices and fleet depots with a 2–4 hour dwell time.
22 kWThree phase, ~32 A per phase. Highest AC rating — fleet depots, high-turnover public bays, and taxi or ride-hail hubs. Note that many cars cap their on-board AC charger below 22 kW, so the car, not the charger, often sets the ceiling.

What You Need at Site

The four things worth confirming before the hardware arrives.

Supply and breaker

3.3 kW and 7.4 kW run on single phase; 11 kW and 22 kW need a three-phase 415 V supply. Size the upstream breaker and cable for the charger's continuous rating — 32 A per phase for 22 kW, 16 A per phase for 11 kW.

Earthing and protection

A dedicated earth connection is required. Ground fault detection and surge protection are built into the charger; site-side RCD and MCB selection should follow IS 732 wiring practice and your electrical contractor's assessment.

Sanctioned load headroom

A 22 kW charger is a significant continuous load. Check your sanctioned demand before adding several — this is the most common reason a multi-charger rollout stalls after the hardware arrives.

Mounting and connectivity

Wall or pedestal mount, IP55 rated for open-air bays. 4G means the charger works without site WiFi; Ethernet is available where a wired backhaul is preferred.

Key Features

Designed for the realities of commercial charging — outdoors, high-traffic, revenue-grade.

Built for Outdoors

IP55 rated enclosure withstands rain, dust, and temperature extremes. Designed for commercial parking lots, fleet depots, and public charging stations.

Accurate Billing

Built-in Class 1 energy meter with sustained 10-year accuracy. Trust the measurement for revenue-grade billing.

Easy Troubleshooting

8 RGB LED error indication types let field engineers diagnose problems instantly without LCD screens, reducing maintenance costs and response time.

Flexible Authentication

Mobile app and RFID card authentication. Manage user access and billing through your CPO platform.

Who Deploys This Charger

The four buyer types this hardware was built around.

Charge Point Operators

CPOs running their own OCPP backend who need predictable lead times and hardware that bills accurately enough to settle against.

Fleet & Logistics Depots

Depots charging vans, cabs or two-wheeler fleets overnight, where per-vehicle energy accounting decides the cost per kilometre.

Malls, Hotels & Commercial Property

Destination charging for customers and guests, often across a portfolio of sites under one brand.

Offices & RWAs

Workplace and residential-society bays where charging has to be allocated and recovered from the right user.

Why the meter inside this charger is different

The energy meter inside every Tech OVN charger is designed by our in-house metering team — the same engineers who build Tech OVN's utility smart meters for the Indian market. Most AC chargers in the market use a generic third-party metering module that's accurate on day one and drifts 2-3% by year five in field conditions. Ours holds inside its accuracy band across the deployment lifetime — the difference between profitable charger fleets and quietly leaking ones.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about the Type 2 charger.

3.3 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW, and 22 kW. Single gun and dual gun configurations available across the range.
Match the rating to how long the vehicle actually sits, not to the biggest number available. 3.3 kW suits overnight parking, 7.4 kW suits a 4–8 hour workplace or hotel stay, 11 kW suits a 2–4 hour mall or office dwell, and 22 kW suits high-turnover public and fleet bays. Note that many cars cap their on-board AC charger below 22 kW, so in practice the vehicle often sets the ceiling rather than the charger.
Catalogue chargers in Tech OVN branding have no MOQ — single units ship from stock, and large quantities (200+ units) take 4 weeks. White-label and OEM chargers in your own branding have an MOQ of 200 units.
Single units and regular catalogue orders ship from stock. Large quantities (200+ units), white-label and OEM / ODM orders are 4 weeks from confirmed PO.
₹31,500 + GST for the 7.4 kW and ₹48,000 + GST for the 22 kW single-gun charger (₹32,000 and ₹49,500 + GST with 4G). 3.3 kW, 11 kW and dual-gun units are quoted on request. Volume and white-label pricing is quoted against your specification and quantity.
A three-phase 415 V supply drawing roughly 32 A per phase. An 11 kW charger needs three phase at roughly 16 A per phase; 7.4 kW and 3.3 kW run on single phase. Size the upstream breaker and cable for continuous load, and check your sanctioned demand before adding several chargers — insufficient sanctioned load is the most common reason a rollout stalls after the hardware has arrived.
Yes. The charger is IP55 rated and designed for outdoor commercial deployment, on either a wall or a pedestal mount.
Yes. The charger supports OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 and works with any backend that speaks those versions. Tech OVN's own EV charging management software (CSMS) is also in early access. We help with OCPP integration, and for bulk orders we can adapt the firmware to suit your backend.
4G is on every unit, so the charger does not depend on site WiFi. Ethernet is available where a wired backhaul is preferred. Charging sessions continue locally if the backhaul drops, and session records sync when the connection returns.
Tech OVN manufactures Type 2 (IEC 62196) AC EV chargers from 3.3 kW to 22 kW in India, in single- and dual-gun configurations, with OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 and Class 1 metering built in. Available as catalogue units (no MOQ, single units from stock) or white-label at MOQ 200 (4 weeks from PO), from our Delhi NCR facility.
Yes. White-label chargers carry your logo, faceplate, packaging and OCPP vendor identifiers, at an MOQ of 200 units and 4 weeks from PO. Custom enclosures are available as an ODM programme.
No. We supply the hardware and the supporting technical documentation; state subsidy applications and filings are handled by the buyer or their consultant.
No. Tech OVN manufactures AC chargers and the charging management software (CSMS). We do not make DC chargers.
A Type 2 EV charger uses the IEC 62196 Type 2 connector — the standard AC charging interface for cars in India and Europe — and delivers up to 22 kW three-phase. A socket EV charger provides a plain power socket (typically a 3.3 kW single-phase 15A/16A socket) that the driver plugs their own portable cable into. Tech OVN builds both: the Type 2 AC EV charger here for commercial and destination charging, and a 3.3 kW single-socket charger for basic home and workplace use.
