EV Charging Management System (CSMS)

The chargers and the software to run them — from one vendor.

A charging station management system for OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 chargers — remote control, driver authorisation, smart charging, billing, and analytics in one place. Run your chargers on the Tech OVN platform, or bring your own backend. Available white-label under your own brand.

Tech OVN EV charging management system dashboard — charger status, sessions, and energy across a network

What the CSMS Does

One control layer for a charging network — from a single site to a national estate.

Remote Monitoring & Control

See every charger's live status, start and stop sessions remotely, and get alerts the moment a charge point faults — across one site or a whole network.

Driver Authorisation

RFID and app-based authorisation so only approved drivers, tenants, or fleet vehicles can charge. Per-user access control, no open sockets.

Smart Charging & Load Management

Distribute available power across every plugged-in vehicle based on site limits and priority — so a bank of chargers never trips the building's main.

Billing, Tariffs & Payments

Time-of-use and per-kWh tariffs, session invoices, and cost allocation to tenants, employees, or fleet vehicles — with revenue-grade metering behind it.

Firmware & Fleet Management

Push OCPP firmware updates and configuration to chargers over the air, and manage your entire estate of charge points from a single dashboard.

Analytics & Reporting

Utilisation, energy cost per charger, uptime, and CO₂ reporting — the data you need to prove ROI and keep a charging network healthy.

Use Ours — or Bring Your Own

Every Tech OVN charger is OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 compliant, which means the hardware is never locked to one platform. You choose how to run it:

Run on the Tech OVN CSMS

One platform for monitoring, authorisation, smart charging, billing, and reporting — including a white-label option so CPOs and property operators can launch a fully branded charging service without building software.

Bring your own backend

Already run a CPO platform? Connect Tech OVN chargers to it over standard OCPP — no lock-in. The chargers work the same either way, and you can move them onto the Tech OVN CSMS later with no hardware change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Tech OVN CSMS, OCPP, and bringing your own backend.

A CSMS — charging station management system — is the software that connects to your EV chargers over OCPP and lets you monitor them, authorise drivers, set tariffs, bill sessions, balance load across a site, and push firmware. It's the control layer that turns a set of chargers into a managed network. The Tech OVN CSMS is one such platform, built for OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 chargers and available white-label. 'CPMS' (charge point management system) means the same thing.
OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is the language between a charger and its CSMS — it's how the platform monitors and controls the hardware. OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface) connects one network to another for roaming, so a driver signed up with one operator can charge on another's network. Tech OVN chargers speak OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1; OCPI roaming is on the CSMS roadmap.
The CSMS is in active development, with early-access onboarding for selected partners and sites. The charger hardware and the analytics layer of the Energy Intelligence Platform are available now; the full management, authorisation, smart-charging, and billing modules are rolling out through early access. Yes. Every Tech OVN charger is OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1 compliant, so you can run it on the Tech OVN CSMS or connect it to any CPO platform or backend you already use. You are never locked in — the hardware stays open either way.
Yes. The platform is designed to run under your own brand — your logo, your driver app, your customer experience — so CPOs, resellers, and property operators can offer a fully branded charging service without building software from scratch.
OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1 — the same open protocols our chargers ship with. This keeps the platform interoperable with a wide range of charge-point hardware, not only Tech OVN's.
Because it speaks standard OCPP, the CSMS is built to manage any OCPP-compliant charger, not just Tech OVN hardware — useful for mixed estates and for operators migrating existing sites onto one platform.
You can deploy Tech OVN OCPP chargers today and connect them to your existing backend, and use the Energy Intelligence Platform for per-charger energy analytics, utilisation, and cost allocation. As CSMS modules ship, your existing chargers move onto them with no hardware change.
