EV Policy Guide
Delhi EV Policy
Policy: Delhi EV Policy 2.0 (extended through 2028) · Official portal
Last updated: April 2026
Delhi has been India's most aggressive EV-policy state since the first EV Policy in 2020. The policy has been extended through 2028 with enhanced buyer subsidies and a far-reaching charging-infrastructure rollout. For commercial deployments, Delhi offers some of the strongest per-charger capex subsidies in the country, plus dedicated EV cells in the state government for fast-track approvals.
Delhi EV buyer incentives
Subsidies, road-tax exemptions, and registration benefits for individual and commercial EV buyers in Delhi.

- Electric four-wheeler cars: Up to ₹1,50,000 per vehicle on the first 1,000 units registered per policy year (cap subject to change).

- Charger capex subsidy: Up to ₹6,000 per AC slow charger (Type 2, up to 22 kW) on the first chargers registered under the policy; higher amounts for DC fast chargers in designated corridors.
- Concessional electricity tariff: Dedicated EV-charging tariff category with time-of-day concessions. No demand charges on dedicated EV circuits during initial policy period.

- Dealer / installer support: Empanelled installer list; standardised BOQ for subsidy claims; fast-track approvals through the state EV cell.
Policy provisions change by notification. Confirm current values with the Delhi transport department or the official policy portal before signing a contract or claiming a subsidy. This guide is updated periodically but is not a substitute for the official government notification.
