EV Policy Guide
Uttar Pradesh EV Policy
Policy: Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing & Mobility Policy 2022 · Official portal
Last updated: April 2026
UP's EV policy is among the most aggressive in India for manufacturing — offering significant capex support, GST reimbursement, and dedicated EV industrial districts. On the demand side, the policy provides buyer subsidies for EV adoption across categories, particularly focused on electric two- and three-wheelers given UP's large commercial-vehicle population.
Uttar Pradesh EV buyer incentives
Subsidies, road-tax exemptions, and registration benefits for individual and commercial EV buyers in Uttar Pradesh.
- Electric two-wheelers: State subsidy stacked with FAME II, enhanced rates for gig-economy and delivery fleets.
- Electric three-wheelers (auto & e-rickshaw): Enhanced per-vehicle subsidy given UP's large e-rickshaw market.
- Electric cars: Purchase incentive for the first tranche of units (cap per policy notification).
- Registration & road tax: Waiver on registration fees and road tax for EVs registered during the policy period.

Capex subsidies, tariff concessions, and charging-infrastructure policy provisions in Uttar Pradesh — relevant for dealers, CPOs, and commercial property owners installing chargers.
- Public charging capex: Capex subsidy for public charging stations across urban and highway zones.
- Concessional tariff: Reduced electricity tariff for EV charging circuits during the policy rollout.
- EV manufacturing capex subsidy: Capital subsidy on plant, machinery, and building — enhanced rates for mega projects in designated districts.
- Dedicated EV industrial districts: Identified districts (including Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar areas) offer additional capex support, single-window clearances, and infrastructure.
- GST reimbursement: Reimbursement of state GST for eligible EV-related manufacturing units, subject to investment and employment thresholds.
Policy provisions change by notification. Confirm current values with the Uttar Pradesh transport department or the official policy portal before signing a contract or claiming a subsidy. This guide is updated periodically but is not a substitute for the official government notification.
