Uttar Pradesh's 2022 policy is one of the clearest state charging-station subsidies: a fixed share of capital cost, paid once the station is operating. The one-year early-bird purchase subsidies in the same policy should be treated as closed unless Invest UP confirms otherwise.

Road tax and registration
100% waiver: in years 1–3 on any EV registered in UP; in years 4–5 only on EVs manufactured, bought and registered in UP.

Early-bird purchase subsidy
15% of ex-factory cost — up to ₹5,000 (two-wheelers), ₹12,000 (three-wheelers) or ₹1 lakh (cars) — for the first year after notification.

EV charging station incentives in Uttar Pradesh
What the state offers to charge-point operators, property owners and businesses installing chargers.
Public charging stations
One-time capital subsidy of 20% of fixed capital investment, up to ₹10 lakh per station, for the first 2,000 stations.
Station investment at least ₹25 lakh excluding land; paid after commercial operation; at most 100 stations per investor. Nodal agency: Invest UP.

Battery swapping
20% of fixed capital investment, up to ₹5 lakh per station, for the first 1,000 stations (investment at least ₹15 lakh).

Government land
10-year lease of government land at a revenue share of ₹1 per kWh.

Electricity tariff
UPERC has a separate EV-charging tariff category, and open access is allowed at charging stations.
